WHAT

The Britax Click & Safe Snug Harness Indicator gives an audible “click” to aid you in the proper tightening of the harness on your child’s car seat.

WHERE

The actual Click & Safe mechanism is located in the seat’s adjuster housing unit. Seats featuring Click & Safe have the Click & Safe logo located on the harness adjuster strap or near the harness adjuster flap.

WHY

It’s important for the harness straps to be snug on your child because loose harness straps allow your child to move out of position, leaving your child vulnerable to injury during a crash. We know that it can be difficult to tell when the harness is snug enough on your child. A study released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed that nearly 60% of child harnesses were too loose. So we designed the Click & Safe Snug Harness Indicator to take the guesswork out of adjusting the harness to the proper tightness so you can enjoy your journey knowing that your little one is safe and secure.

HOW

The actual Click & Safe mechanism is a mechanical device that has been engineered to sense tension when the adjuster strap is pulled. In order for the Click & Safe mechanism to provide an accurate reading, it’s important that you first remove all slack from the harness straps around your child’s hips and that the harness straps are properly positioned at your child’s shoulders. Please also keep in mind that the Click & Safe Snug Harness Indicator is a secondary feature and you should still be aware of how snug the harness should be on your child.
